In addition to the great work the youth did with GTC this summer, exploring lesser known aspects of the Food and Agriculture industry is crucial to our understanding of how the food system works, and helps us think about ways we contribute or can make changes to achieve our goal of true food justice.
Collins Compost has been an amazing contributor to our sites since we started working with them in 2010. Providing a super nutrient compost (actually called Super Compost) we have seen great yields and have provided our vegetables with a great start in this amazing soil. This trip was made possible by Elena and the great folks at the BIG E's Agriculture & Education building (Thanks again!!). Enjoy!
