GTC's 2023 Plant Sale

Our annual Plant Sale offers a variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers that are perfect for your home gardens. Pre-order NOW until April 30th (see instructions below). Remember, all fruit, vegetable, and herb purchases can be made with HIP benefits!

We will be scheduling pick up times for all pre-order customers starting on May 6th. We will also have times for shoppers who do not wish to pre-order, although plant availability will be limited for walk-in customers.

How to Pre-Order Online

Please read the following instructions to learn how to place a pre-order using our online store platform.
     1. All plant orders can be placed at https://gtcspringfield.square.site/s/order/47?location=11eb56a6e4f2205b8648ac1f6bbbd01e​.
     2. Make sure your fulfillment is set to "Shipping" instead of "Pickup" (see images below for step-by-step instructions)​​
     3. On the Plant Sale 2022 page, you will find categories for "Fruits, Vegetables, Herbs, and Medicinal" and "Flowers and Foliage." Click the "Shop Now" button on the category images to purchase plants in that category.​
  • Note that SNAP/HIP can only be used to purchase items in the "Fruits, Vegetables, Herbs, and Medicinal" category!​
​     4. Click on plants to view them. Change the variety and quantity, then click "Add to order" to add them to your cart.
     5. Once your order is complete, click on the cart icon in the top right to review. Here, you can change the quantity, remove items, and see your total cost.
  • Click "+ A coupon code" and enter code "SNAP" to check out with SNAP and pay at pickup.
     6. Click "Checkout" to finish and pay.
You will receive a receipt in your email to confirm your purchase. In April, you will receive a second email asking you to select a pickup time for your plants during the weekend of the sale. Thank you for supporting Gardening the Community!

Thank you for supporting our 2021 Plant Sale!

Despite this year being the second socially distant sale, we still saw record numbers of sales with over 120 online pre-orders plus many walk-in customers from our community! Thank you to all the sponsors, interns, staff, dedicated planning committee, daily volunteers who braved the changeable May weather, and to everyone who shared info, education, and advice. We couldn't have done it without your help!

While we again missed gathering as a community this year, our virtual resources are available year-round, and our commitment to food education and justice continues. Thank you all for supporting us and our mission during these past few years as we navigate the changing world together.

This year's plant sale was our most successful yet, with 166 orders plus many walk-in customers from our community, and it was all due to your support! We couldn't have done it without your help publicizing, organizing, and willingness to work with our online order and scheduling process. Even in these uncertain times, you were all willing to support us, and that means a lot.

While we missed gathering as a community this year, your words of encouragement as you came to pick up plants made it all worthwhile. We look forward to seeing you all when we can safely be together again! Special thanks to our volunteers, partner farms, interns, and staff who worked to make this event possible, including those who spent time to create tutorial videos and other resources in place of our Gardeners Gathering. We couldn't have done it without you!
