Help support our critical work in 2021

This year has not been one any of us imagined, but GTC remains resilient. In our 18th year, we continue to lead as one of a handful of Black-led youth farming organizations in New England, and persevered as we worked through organizational transitions and adapted to the challenges of 2020. GTC youth and staff grew delicious, pesticide-free fruits, vegetables, and herbs for our neighbors. Our Walnut St Farm Store now has an online storefront, and opened up healthy food access to hundreds of Springfield families. We were truly humbled to receive so much support this spring and summer, and once again are asking for your help to end the year strong.
Your gift today supports the work of GTC to build a more equitable, sustainable, and racially just food system and grow youth leadership this winter and into next year. Help us reach our $48,000 goal! Click here to read the full letter from Ibrahim Ali, GTC's Director of Farming and Youth Programs.

With your support, over the winter months, we will:
  • grow micro-greens and other winter cold weather crops in our greenhouse
  • keep our Community Farm Store open safely as a resource for our neighbors and those receiving HIP benefits in Springfield and beyond
  • run a 16 week long winter farm share program serving families and elders, providing low-cost farm shares to those unable to pay full price
  • respond to community members facing food emergencies
  • work with our youth to develop their critical thinking and leadership skills and learn more deeply about food and racial justice, regenerative farming, and the vegetables we grow
  • continue to adapt our youth programming, Farm Store and farm share operations, and volunteering opportunities to serve our neighbors in this challenging time
